“Many of my clients are thoughtful, reflective, and motivated to grow. They often know why they feel anxious, overwhelmed or reactive, but still find themselves repeating the same patterns in their relationships and daily life.”

Kaitlin Olson, MA, LMFT

I work with self-aware teens and young adults who feel stuck in patterns they can’t seem to change, despite understanding themselves on a deeper level.

Many of my clients are thoughtful, reflective, and motivated to grow. They often know why they feel anxious, overwhelmed, or reactive, but still find themselves repeating the same patterns in their relationships and daily life. Over time, this can feel frustrating and discouraging, like insight isn’t translating into real change.

My approach is relational and insight-oriented, but we don’t stop at awareness. Together, we look beneath surface patterns to understand what’s driving them, while also working toward meaningful, sustainable change. Therapy with me is both reflective and active. I’ll help you make sense of your experiences, while also challenging you in ways that support real movement forward.

Clients often describe me as warm, honest, and direct. I believe therapy works best when you feel both supported and challenged, and when the process feels grounded in your real, day-to-day life, not just abstract insight.

My background includes clinical training as a Trainee and MFT Associate in school, private practice, and telehealth settings, where I worked with children, teens, and adults across a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, relationship challenges, and trauma. In 2023, I opened my private practice in Ventura, where I now focus primarily on older teens and young adults.

If you’re someone who is insightful about your problems but still feels stuck, therapy here is about helping you actually experience change, not just understand why things are the way they are.
